Here's ol' Wheatman's top picks. I think you'd get a kick out of at least some of them.. hopefully. Anyways, enjoy the stuffs below!

Huge thanks to pretty much everyone who created these wonderful websites, even if a few are only available on the Wayback Machine. I genuinely love reading all these things, they bring me such joy and I feel like it would be something to bring others joy.

FAIR WARNING: Half of the comics on here date back to the late 90's at the earliest, so the humor in some of these things are a little crass and certainly not meant for the younger crowd. The rest of you can go on ahead, or if you are the younger crowd, why not check out the not-comics?

The Not-Comics

D I G I T A L I T Y ! !

Long before this neocities site, I had this blogspot site. It's old, and I would usually recommend not going to the site, but it's a good source to see what I was up to at that time. Plus you get to see my oldest public work, Legends of Dumbness. That was a good read, but the artwork, especially on the older ones, makes me cringe.

TCRF is the place to go if you want to read about all the dirty details about your favorite games, ranging from Sonic 2's 6000 different prototypes to hidden debug menus on some plug-n-play TV games I am currently trying to start a collection of. There's more neat reads than.. un-neat reads I guess.

Overclockworked is a site where one MSX-POCKY plays and reviews games for anything, ranging from the Sega Master System to MacOS. There's a ton of fascinating reads here, and he even covers some games I've never heard of before.. mostly cause half of them are Mac games and I don't use Mac.

How could I not give at least some thanks to one of the most awesome corners of this busted internet? I'd be a fool not to. If it weren't for them I wouldn't know what to do with half of the nonsense below.

Museum of the Game / Killer List of Videogames / whatever else this thing goes by is one of the coolest sites around. They list off info about almost every single arcade game in existence, ranging from your Pac-Mans to your modern game trash.

THE OLD NET!!!

The Old Net is THE coolest place on the web at this point and time. Name a site you wanna go to, put a time in (1994-2010), and away you go! It also allows you to search stuff too. Damn it's awesome!

The Comics (grab some popcorn folks, this'll be a while)

VotN is a really old comic, dating back to 2000. The actual site isn't in the best shape however so this here is the Wayback Machine link, dated around 2002 and is in great shape. The actual site can be viewed here : http://vet.keenspace.com

Shinku hails from the futuristic year 2000! This feels like it absolutely caters to me and other retro gamer types. Unlike VotN this is almost perfectly well-maintained so no Wayback shenanigans are necessary. This one's about the artist "Yamcha Hibiki" and co. as they go around making references to games. Overall this one's great if you like games ranging from Dig Dug to Space Channel 5.

More of Yamcha Hibiki? Okay. Sub-Culture is this one. It's about Kane S. Lupus and his partner-in-crime Jennifur as they get up to all sorts of mischief, mostly relating to the lack of panels and messing with the artist. It's good fun.

This actually got me rather interested. It's a solid little read that genuinely hooks you into what's going to happen next. It's inspired by 90's shonen, and I can kinda see it, it's got all the tension and comedy down pat, I'd say. (it's an ongoing story so I don't want to spoil anything)

Oh look, it's Yamcha Hibiki! Again! Impy and Aevy here is one of my favorites of these old webcomics, right up there with VotN. It chronicles the nonsense adventures of the titular duo, Impy, a hyper sugar-obsessed "pink mage", and Aevy, a goth artist and the only normal one in these adventures. Together they navigate life and maybe deal with certain thorns in their sides.

Saved & Spoiled here is one of the most true-to-life comics of our time.. providing you're a dog and cat owner. It follows Wilson the rescue dog and his buddy Dewey, a stuck-up and 'elegant' kitty. They get into all sorts of mischief together. It's a great read.

Ah, Sabrina Online. A classic, dating back to 1997. As far as I know, it's another ongoing comic. In short, it's about a skunk who navigates daily life at her.. interesting job, while being extremely nerdy.

Another classic. If you've been on my blog Brain Drain, you've heard me ramble about this comic twice. It's a really interesting read. The banner pretty much tells the gist about what the comic is about.

LANCASTER, THE GHOST DETECTIVE!!

Lancaster, this is another fantastic read! I like reading comedic stories about ghosts, and this one is a comedic story about ghosts.. well, a ghost detective. What even is a ghost detective anyway?

NO! WE AIN'T GONNA TAKE IT!! WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT.. any.. wait this isn't about Twisted Sister? Blasphemy! Oh wait.. it's a comic about cats. Okay, it's fine.

Here's a wild one, a comic about the Pac-Man ghosts, and better yet one that's actually entertaining as hell, featuring all sorts of wacky antics. This is a good read, surprising since it came from Pac-Man.

Goddammit Yamcha! Again? Anyway, Fusion D is a ridiculous tale, in two ways. The first, the story, which chronicles Fusion D of course, a catgirl who's seen it all, from the bad to the good. She vows to take down the world, meeting a bunch of oddballs along the way. Now for the second thing. This comic has some remarkably poor archives. Heck, the 'best' ones I could find are the Keenspace ones and this one.So, uh, happy reading? Be warned though, this is a comic that is NOT meant for either young'uns or the faint of heart.

Is that it? Please let it be it.. oh who am I kidding.
