Yes indeed, I'm going to stop using social media. But why?
Well, first of all, the whole landscape of the web nowadays is nothing more than a money game that big boy corporations and AI obsessors are constantly trying to win. It gets exhausting. No I don't care about all the quick ways to get tons of money fast, and no I don't care about switching to Chrome! I've got Supermium, isn't that enough?!
Second thing, a lot of the content floating around social media is, 9 times out of 10, the most brain numbing, moronic filth imaginable. There is rarely anything interesting to see and do, and I know why that is too. It's cause they want you to stay on the Youtube and the Tick Tock or whatever it's called, or Instantgram, that sounds good actually. Why don't instant graham crackers exist? Oh well, that's besides the point.
Point is, they make social media addictive on the users' part, while on the company's part they just want that sweet sweet cash.
Right, so let me ask you all a question; what happened to the old web? The place before social media fat cats overtook all, the place where it felt like anyone can do anything? Oh, it's still here alright. The Wayback Machine can always help out on said old net.. however..
Let me introduce you all to The Old Net!
The Old Net is a website that really brings the good ol' net back, as well as the feeling of using two search bars. You put in a site's name, select a date (ranging from 1994 to 2010), and away you go! It's great!
Now, let's update that links page..
